Judicial Philosophy
Experience. Integrity.
The Rule of Law.
Jason Cuccia is running for Judge of the 22nd Judicial District Court because the people of St. Tammany and Washington Parishes deserve a courtroom built on fairness, accountability, and respect for the law. Here's what guides him.
Experience
Ready on Day One.
Not a Learning Curve.
Jason Cuccia is a veteran Louisiana prosecutor with more than 15 years of experience and over 120 jury trials — a record built handling real cases for the people of St. Tammany and Washington Parishes.
He earned his law degree from Tulane University while working full-time, then spent his career prosecuting cases professionally, ethically, and fairly. There will be no learning curve on the bench — Jason has spent his entire career in the courtroom he's asking to serve.
Fifteen years of trial experience is not a résumé line. It's a readiness to serve Division G from day one.
Principle
The Law as Written.
Not as He Wishes It Were.
Jason believes judges interpret the law — they do not make it. He will apply the law as written, respect the separation of powers, and never legislate from the bench.
That commitment to the rule of law means predictable, consistent rulings — the same standard applied to every case and every person who appears in his courtroom.
A judge's job is to say what the law is — not what it should be.
Temperament
Professional. Ethical.
Fair to Every Person.
Known throughout the 22nd Judicial District for his professionalism, Jason has built a reputation as a prosecutor who treats every person — victims, defendants, attorneys, and law enforcement alike — with respect and fairness.
He believes the courtroom should be a place of order and accountability, where every person is treated equally under the law, regardless of who they are or who they know.
Fairness isn't a slogan. It's a standard applied the same way, every time, to everyone.
Service
Rooted in St. Tammany
and Washington Parishes.
Jason and his wife Beth, a local teacher, are raising their three daughters on the Northshore. They are active members of First Baptist Church of Covington and remain deeply invested in the community they serve.
His experience as a husband, father, and neighbor shapes his commitment to a justice system that protects families, supports victims, and treats every party with dignity.
This is home. Serving it well is personal, not political.
